pregnancy spotting

I am 11 soon to be 12 weeks pregnant. Last night I started spotting and it has continued on to today. It is very light pinkish brown. Is this normal? Should I go to the emergency room and get it checked out or wait for my appointment in 3 days?

light pink and brownish spotting is very common is early pregnancy.i think it is nothing to worry about. but if you have cramps and start red heavy bleeding then you should go to the hospital.but if you are very worried then go to early pregnancy unit and they will do a scan to see if everything is fine.best of luck

I would call your doctor’s office or your locale “Ask a Nurse” hot line and ask them what you should do. I was always told that some spotting is normal as long as it doesn’t fill up a pad. But i definitely would contact a Professional about it. Good luck.

If you’re not experiencing any pain you should be fine until your next appointment in 3 days, because in some cases spotting is normal. If the spotting gets heavy and if you feel any discomfort you should go to the emergency room.

I was told if the spotting lasts for more than a few hours, if you have ANY cramping or any red/pink blood to get checked out. I would go, I know you will be much more relaxed if you get to hear the heartbeat. Good luck

i have had both outcomes from spotting during pregnancy. my first pregnancy i started spotting at 12 weeks it was very light and brown. i went to the hospital straight away and they told me it was normal and they were not concerned because i had seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks, and the spotting wasnt heavy, and also my hcg levels were still rising. i wasnt convinced so i made them give me an ultrasound,i turns out i had a missed miscarriage and my baby had died at 9 weeks.
with this pregnancy i had spotting at 5,7,9,11 weeks and everytime i went and got an ultrasound i turned out the baby was healthy and alive.
its really not worth taking the chance when it comes to any type of bleeding or spotting. it can be normal but i would still go and get it checked asap.
good luck and i hope everything ok.
