Hi,I’m 24 wks pregnant and i was told that i need to take a Glucose Screening test next month.They told me to take milk/eggs for breakfast and not eat anything for 1 hr before the test.My question is can i go fasting for the test or is it ok to eat something and go?will it change the results of the test?Pls suggest.Thanks.

Do you have to fast for the Glucose Tolerance Test during your pregnancy? I am 29 weeks and am due for my test, just wanted to know if I had to fast or not. I would call the lab but its Sunday night and they are closed.

I just had mine today and I threw up after the first hour, and almost passed out. The doc wanted me to finish the the test though, Is that wierd? I sat back down and almost passed out again, so I laid on the table in the lab for the last 1 1/2 hours. I got hot, felt light headed and my ears started ringing so much I almost couldn’t hear!!! Anyone else had similar problems? Why would I get so sick, could I have hypoglycymia?
