Just curious to know how many time blood will be drawn during my pregnancy, i hate needles, any suggestion on how to deal? Numbing cream etc… Any tips will be helpful, thanks

I’ve only had one visit to the Doctor since I’ve been pregnant where they just did all the “lab work”. They take a lot of blood and I was just wondering why. What do they test for that they need so much. To make sure your pregnant of course but do they check for infections? I have another appointment on the 27th, but until then I was just curious.

Is it that necessary? Because obviously they cant make you have the test done..Just curious.

Do Drs do blood drug test on pregnant women in Iowa. I am writing a paper on drugs and they effect they have on pregnancy and am talking about what states test during pregnancy and what states test after delivery. I have alot of friends who say they were not tested., but when I did a google search I found tons of pages saying that it is mandatory. If anyone knows please answer.

I am in the very early stages of pregnancy, like 3.5 to 4 weeks pregnant. I took my blood test yesterday and she confirmed that I was pregnant but wants to take another one in a few days to make sure the HCG levels are increasing. She said they were good for where I am at now. I have been experiencing some slight cramping and I want to know if it’s normal. What could it be? I am really scared this is my first pregnancy and I don’t know what to expect. Please help
