I am about 5 weeks pregnant and I have cramps that usually come at night time, but it is only like one cramp. Is this normal?

It was for me. With my last pregnancy I would cramp every night before I went to bed, and I would cramp so bad it would bring me to tears. I even went to the doctor because I was scared, but she told me that it was my uterus stretching.

perfectly normal - it is just your body adjusting to the growing uterus and baby

Cramping is normal during pregnancy. It is actually just the uterus expanding for your pending arrival. If you are having multiple cramps in a row it could be because you aren’t drinking enough water.

It was normal for me also. Your body is adjusting, your uterus is expanding, your muscles are preparing to make room. All of these will contribute to some muscle cramping that can get really sharp at times, esp as you get larger and the sides of your abs start cramping with quick movements. Embrace it… its a part of your body preparing to make room for your little one :)

I got that quite a bit when i was just beginning my pregnancy, exactly as you describe and it really hurts right?Mine came every night until i was about 10 weeks along.Watch out when you have sex you can get contraction-like cramps and its BAAAD lol But you might want to get checked by a doctor, he might get you to do an ultrasound to make sure it is not an ectopic pregnancy (where the baby is attached outside your uterus) This is what they did with me.

If it feels like a mild period cramp, that’s absolutely normal. It’s just your uterus stretching to allow more room for your growing baby :) If it’s painful and/or accompanied by bleeding, though, get it checked out.
