I have a high risk pregnancy with twins. I have to do regular NST’s. I believe it is an overdue or high risk thing but could be wrong.
im pretty sure its high risk and over due that is what i read. Long as you feel the baby moving then everything is fine.
I don’t think its routine for a non stress test, however everyone and their pregnancy’s are different.
My experience is that i never had that done nor was it ever mentioned to be during all those months.
well my OB’s consider me high-risk due to my gestational diabetes and being on insulin and crap….and they have me starting the non-stress tests 2x week until my baby is born at the end of November.
I did have them performed with my other two uncomplicated pregnancies, but thats because I was having alot of pre-term contractions. But its just to monitor your baby closer….doesnt necessarily mean you’re high risk.
I was high risk and had it done twice a week. It’s done if a pregnant women is high risk or overdue, like you mentioned.
I have to have weekly NSTs and I have for the past couple of weeks. I don’t think I’m high risk (my bp has been high once or twice, but not regularly), but I was measuring a little small for my dates and my doctor was concerned. I don’t know if it’s actually routine or not, but I’m not overdue or high risk, as far as I know.
when I was 3 days overdue, I didnt feel my baby moving as much and he sent me to get a stress test done. They were gonna induce me that friday, but instead did it that tuesday. Good thing, his cord was around his neck. So I do know they will if they suspect something could be wrong
I think it’s only a precautionary measure to help your doctor determine IF you are a high risk pregnancy. But at the same time, I agree that this is also done if you’re past 40 weeks. I had one done with my 1st baby, who was 1 week late.
