Palmers Coco butter and olive oil. I used it and never got any. Yes you stomach will go back to normal after the birth, good luck.

cocoa butter rubbed into the skin all over everywhere every day will help prevent strech marks, but dont sweat strech marks too much you will have so much other stuff to worry about,
and no i didnt go straight back into my size 10 jeans after the babies were born, it can take a few months even a few years to get back to what you would consider ‘normal’ but really, dont worry about things like that because you will have the most beautiful baby and people wont notice ;-)

First off, Yes, with exercise, your stomach will go flat again. To avoid stretch marks, one of the ways to help your skin is to keep it well moisturized, use a body moisturizer on your belly two or three times a day, especially if it seems that your belly is stretching faster over a shorter period of time, the scars result because the skin is not elastic enough to adjust to a quick change — so moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

You can try Palmer’s tummy butter…which is sold at wal-mart. just rub some on your tummy right before you go to bed, that’s the best time to remember. It helps because it keeps your skin moisturized and prevents the dryness and itching that comes along with the stretching. Hope this helps!!

You can not prevent them but you can make them less severe. You just have to watch your weight but not so as to hurt the baby. You can rub lotion on your belly all the time to keep it soft and pliable and that will help but you are still gonna have stretch marks…Part of the whole pregnancy thing..

seems we all use palmers coco butter…its amazing for stretch marks and isnt expensive either……

  • veronicagzm says:

Stretch marks are partly genetic and partly releated to how quickly your belly grows.
If you are genetically disposed to strecth marks, you will probably get them — no matter what you do.
If your belly grows very rapidly, you will probably get stretch marks, as well. That is one reason you should aim for a balanced and gradual weight gain.

Since stretch marks are tears in the deepest layer of skin, rubbing lotions on the surface of your skin won’t help prevent them. (The lotion does not reach the deepest layer.)
However, lotions can help prevent the unbearable itching that women often experience on their abdomens.

90% of women get stretch marks. The marks usually fade and shrink to a silvery, thin line after about a year. If needed, a dermotologist can prescribe Retin A to fade the marks after you have given birth.

Good luck, and here’s hoping that you are one of the lucky 10%!

Hi. I am 23 weeks pregnant with my 2nd daughter. I had no strech marks on my belly on my 1st pregnancy and I used a common moisturizer (Nivea, i think…). This time, I have a huge belly and I wear Mustela products, almost everyday. No strech marks so far, but i do believe it depends on the type of your skin. I DID develop strech marks on my thighs, though, so now I put Mustela all over my body!! Yes, I did regain my old shape with exercice, mainly. Best of luck to you!

Congrats! & You can put cocoa butter on your belly thats the best thing, it’s like lotion but 10 times better for your skin and preventing stretch marks. Sometimes since stretch marks are commonly inherited you can fight some of it but not all of it, but sometimes you’re lucky and get none. Goodluck!

This may sound silly because I do not know how to prevent them but although some women dislike them, I get a little special feeling when seeing them knowing they are there because of the wonderful daughter I gave birth to. If nothing on this sight helps you to avoid them, try not to worry too much about them. They only add to your beauty as a mother!

My mom never got any stretch marks during all 4 of her pregnancies… she told me that she put baby oil on her stomach every day while in the shower.

  • Loving Mother & Wife says:

I’m 34 weeks pregnant. I haven’t got any stretch marks at all. I use Jergens Shea Butter Cream. I love it. It’s gives 24 hours of moisturizer.
