I just had mine today and I threw up after the first hour, and almost passed out. The doc wanted me to finish the the test though, Is that wierd? I sat back down and almost passed out again, so I laid on the table in the lab for the last 1 1/2 hours. I got hot, felt light headed and my ears started ringing so much I almost couldn’t hear!!! Anyone else had similar problems? Why would I get so sick, could I have hypoglycymia?
no just really nauseated that’s all and thats only because I was unable to eat because of the test
the combo of the fast and the glucose load gets a lot of folks.
i almost fainted a few times when I had both of my tests..i doubt you have hypoglycemia…it’s probably just from fasting..and all that crap hits you at once..
It didn’t make me throw up but I felt very sick, I told them and they said I still have to drink it like you the dr wasn’t going to let me out of finishing it, it’s for a really importaint reason. I doubt that i’t hypoglycymia it’s just full of sugars and stuff you’re not used to…I know what you mean though, your body had gone through enough over these months being pregnant and then you have to have that s**t too. N/M it’s over now…
OK I didn’t get as sick as you…I never threw up…but the light headed nauseous feeling was definitely there. I was also wrung out and slept most of the day after the test. I just felt yucky for several hours after. I turned out to have gestational diabetes.
It’s not that bad. I can control it with my diet. I was a bit of a carb junky. I have actually been loosing weight because of the diet. My doc actually says this is good and it’s because my metabolism is changing from eating so regularly.
Before everyone freaks because my doc is happy I’m loosing weight…I started out overweight and am not supposed to gain the “normal” 25-35 lbs.
