I am 25 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing mild cramping in lower abdomen since last 2 days in evenings.. 1 day it lasted 2-3 hours and yesterday, I felt mild cramps twice with time gap of 45 mins.
I called my doc on day 1 and she asked me to drink lots of water and rest for an hour.. that worked. Yesterday I must have had a gallon of water and yet experienced the cramps twice in evening.
And today I have been feeling the mild cramps again off and on. I know I am not dehyderated.
I have no bleeding and can feel the baby move normally.
Shud I worry or is this normal during pregnancy? Moms, did you experience anything like this when you were pregnant?

It can be braxton-hicks contractions. It can be the uterous expanding to accustom the growing baby. Or it can be the beginning of preterm labor, which is what I had. Do not freak out. Mine was mainly contractions which felt like cramps but no water breakage and no premie baby. They can stop the contractions at this state. If they persist, call the OB ward and they can put you on a moniter. It doesn’t hurt or anything to do.
Hey there cramper!
I am a mom of three almost four. And each pregnancy I had cramping very early on, and around the 25th week going forward.
These sound like braxton hicks, and maybe even small contractions for real. It is possible. to have contractions and not even deliver till after the estimated due date.
So hang in there, rest when you feel tired!
and drink fluid.
Why? Because sometimes w/dehydration muscles can get crampy too
i think its your body adjusting to the new life inside. just think about what youll have when its all over. if you start to consistently cramp or have contractions regularly for some hours you might want to give the OB ward a call. i had something similar and my son was born in the eight month but was healthy. babies are alot stronger than we might think.
i had this with my second and was told it was the baby turning its head also women often experience these cramp like pains a around the time they would of had their period as long as the baby moves at least 10 times a day and you have no bleeding and/or swelling blurred vision or head aches you should be fine but like your midwife has prob told you … trust your gut feeling if you think you should be worried contact her you’ll often find that your ordinary gp doesnt actually know much about pregnancy if the cramps are happening outta office hours and your worried get yourself up to the maternity ward and have them check you over better to be safe than sorry good luck with the rest of your preg and your life with the new baby xxx
I experienced cramps with all three of my pregnancies. I don’t think there is a need for worry! I know it’s easier said then done. I was always worried about one thing or another during pregnancy. After the baby is born every little thing will make you wonder if he/she is fine. Babies are such a blessing from the Lord. Congratulations and God Bless!!!
I did a little, but not that much. It is very possible that you are getting these cramps because your stomach muscles are expanding as your baby grows inside you. It’s a shock to your body because it’s expanding at a faster rate than for someone who is not pregnant, like a person who gained a lot of weight really fast, their muscles and stomach would not expand at such a fast rate. Your body is telling you, what the heck is going on here! LOL, I think youre just fine though, but if you’re still concerned, theres nothing better than to just see you doctor. Make sure you and the baby are safe! That’s what’s important. Don’t worry though, okay?
I had some cramping as well, various times thru-out. Usually as long as it’s not constant, it’s ok. It’s definately worth getting checked out tho, even if it’s just to put your mind at ease. Take care and rest. good luck!
mild cramps are normal all the way through pregnancy, as long as theres no bleeding and its not severe then its normal. your uteris is stretching and that causes some pain.
I am also 26 weeks pregnant, and my doctor told me it is normal. When it happens he told me to empty my bladder, drink lots of water, and lie down. He says things like stress, cleaning, sex, and lack of fluids can set it off. Everything is probably normal. If it is your first, then your entire uterus has to stretch considerably to accomodate your growing baby. This can be painful. All your organs and even muscles are being moved.
